Bryan Bushman, Ph.D.

Over the past 16+ years of full-time practice, I have developed a strong commitment to helping adults, children and teens heal from anxiety, depression, grief and trauma. Since completing my formal training in 2008, I settled in Utah, where I have worked extensively with adults suffering from trauma, depression, anxiety and traumatic brain injury (TBI). Regarding my work with children and teens, I have worked extensively with conditions like ADHD, Autism, learning problems, self-harm behaviors, and mood disturbance. A family-based treatment approach is very important, as the whole family needs to be involved.
I try to keep 5 “Cs” in mind when working with patients: Connection, Capacity, Stage of Change, Consistency, and Culture. I believe any treatment that does not take into account these 5 “Cs” will not work for you. And it’s important to me that you feel successful because I believe coming to therapy is an act of incredible bravery.
I use the principle of acceptance with myself and my clients. If you’d like to learn more about my approach, you can read the first section of my book “Becoming Okay (When You’re Not Okay)” for free on Amazon. My passions are writing, hiking, meditation, community outreach, and chasing my toddler (mostly unsuccessfully).
