Alena Ericksen, ACMHC

I cherish being a therapist! It’s a rewarding honor to see clients transform from places of pain and frustration to newer heights of confidence and well-being. I recognize that counseling can often be incredibly vulnerable, and my goal is to help each person feel comfortable, safe, and supported on this journey of reaching their goals. I often empower each person with the truth that they can trust their own intuition as the expert in their lives. I believe in teaching skills that harness strengths while championing each client’s progress.

I have a Bachelors in Marriage and Family Studies from BYU-I, Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University, certifications in both The School of Natural Healing and National Guild of Hypnotists. I customize various forms of psychotherapy from Solution-focused, EMDR, Person-centered, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Hypnosis, Mindfulness, Gottman, and Logo therapy.

Oftentimes, clients report that they have comfortably learned more tools and made more progress in a shorter timeframe than many other therapy attempts. EMDR and Solution-focused modalities are a significant reason for that. EMDR is substantially supported in science-based evidence as one of the best forms for trauma treatment. Solution-focused is one of my favorite modalities in targeting the chief complaint and getting to the core of the issue, which often involves trauma. My aim is to relieve human suffering as quickly as possible. However, I respect that each individual has a unique pace to reach their goals and so I always follow my clients’ lead.

When I am not serving my amazing clients, I am enjoying my family that includes my 6 adult children, 5 (and growing) grandchildren, my husband of nearly 30 years, and serving the community. Some of my favorite things are traveling the world to appreciate history, culture and people, studying, nature, gardening and holistic health.

I look forward to meeting you and am excited at the prospect of working with you.
