Tim Champlin, LCSW

I believe that living a life of happiness and peace is correlated with learning skills to improve relationships, to validate our emotions without them running us, and to make decisions based on what we have control over. I am passionate about working with clients that would like to focus on emotion regulation, improving relationships with ourselves and others, overcoming divorce, faith crises and transitions, decreasing intrusive thoughts and increasing self love. These are the things that get me excited to come into work everyday. Also, if you’re a nerd like me that loves Star Wars or superheroes, we’ll get along just fine.
I work with clients 14 and up in learning psychological flexibility, meaning to be mindful as we experience the joys in life while also developing skills and confidence in our ability to be resilient i.e. to have meaning and purpose during our life challenges. I feel learning this can be an incredibly empowering experience.
I’m a client centered therapist. What does this mean? It means you’re the boss. Your responsibility is identifying your goals, practicing skills we go over and giving me feedback about what is working or not working for you. My responsibility is to help you feel safe, to meet you where you’re at and provide evidence based treatment to support you.
